Independent Living Skills Training (ILST) services are designed to improve or maintain the ability of people with brain injuries to live as independently as possible in the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After conducting a comprehensive functional assessment, which identifies a person\u2019s ability to perform daily activities, EPI works with participants, their families and caregivers, to establish short and long-term rehabilitative goals and develop a detailed plan of services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Whether the goals are related to household management, self-care, communication, vocational or some other objective, our team provides assistance, training and oversight towards the completion of these goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
EPI\u2019s ILST services include training and supervision of a person with self-care, medication management, task completion, communication skills, interpersonal skills, socialization, sensory\/motor skills, community transportation skills, reduction\/elimination of maladaptive behaviors, problem solving skills, money management, pre-vocational skills and skills to maintain a household.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Services are provided one-on-one, generally in the participant\u2019s home or in community setting. We tailor our services to each person\u2019s preferred manner of learning and to his or her responses to interventions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
